Day 19 in the hospital
Day 7 post chemo
I was supposed to get my second bone marrow biopsy today. We’re praying and hoping to see ZERO cancer cells on this biopsy.
Unfortunately, my platelets are low again today. I’m at 10, they need to be at least 15 or they have to do a transfusion. My hemoglobin is low too. I’m at 6.8, it needs to be at least 7.
I have to get platelets before they will let me get my biopsy. My blood and platelets have to be irradiated and driven from across Denver, so it takes awhile. I think it’s been taking about 4 hours. I’m not allowed to eat or drink anything until the biopsy. I’m going to be hungry, or at the very least, thirsty by the time we get this party started.
It’s also Holden’s birthday today. He is nine! I wasn’t there this morning to sing him Happy Birthday and watch him blow out his candle on his birthday donut. The plan was to have dinner and cake at the hospital tonight to celebrate H. I’m really hoping that I’ll be up for it. My energy level is so hit for miss.
Nine years ago I was in the hospital giving birth to a beautiful and healthy 8 lb 1 oz baby boy. |
Happy Birthday my little Holden. We love you so much! You are my sport loving, funny, caring little guy. And we are so happy to have you in our family. |
Will update again soon.
Love & Light.
