Day 4 in the hospital
Since I’ve been in the hospital I’ve been on neutropenic precautions. Basically my immune system is non-existent.
My neutrophils is at 160. It should be 1,000.
This is the reason for the masks.
Also, I must have forgotten to mention this in previous posts, but I can’t eat raw fresh fruits or vegetables or have flowers or plants in my room.
Which sucks because I was planning on sustaining myself with salads and fresh fruit. I mean, who can mess up a salad?
But, on the good side. I got my IV out today. When I got here on Friday I had two IV’s put in. Basically they put one in and realized they needed a bigger one and I guess they just decided to keep them both in for fun. Yesterday I asked my doctor if I could get the one in my elbow out since I’ll be getting my Picc Line today. This morning I asked if could get my other IV out and shower and feel human for a couple hours. She one upped me and told me I could get the IV out and not be on the oxygen monitor all day. Little victories!
Friday. Sucks so bad to try and sleep or do anything with all this crap on my arm. |
Today. Going to enjoy having a free arm for a few hours. So much easier to shower. I could even wash my hair! |
Zach took the boys to the Labor Day parade this morning. He’s been sending me videos and pictures. It’s the next best thing to being there.
Will update again soon.
Love & Light.

Leukemia sucks. Sending you good healing juju and love and smiles. You are such a lovely strong person, you are going to kick its ass. Don't hesitate to call on your Emerald family for anything you or the boys need. Big hugs!
