So, yeah, about that little treacherous bike ride. I haven’t done a ton of movement, obviously, for the last year. June 1, a friend posted one of those little 30 day squat challenges and I decided to get on it. I posted it on my Facebook page and rallied some ladies to do it with me. I just decided that I needed to get started. Because, if not now, then when. So, when Zach proposed this long(ish) bike ride, I decided I should just do it.
The boys were way in front of me. But, come on, they all have these fancy mountain bikes with gears and I have a single speed red cruiser with a basket. The bike has got to weigh 50 pounds.
So, we rode. My bike was so heavy. It was hot. I was tired. I wanted to turn around multiple times. But, I just kept trekking.
On the way home, it was real hard. I’m fairly certain 100% of the bike was uphill. Zach offered to ride ahead and pick me up. UGH. I can’t do that. It just sucks that I can not do this.
So, when it got really tough. I got off and walked. Zach swapped bikes with me (his is still a single speed cruiser, but it’s lighter. So that helped for a hot minute. Then Zach pushed my bike AND his bike so I could catch my breath.
And, well, I made it. Zach stayed right there next to me the whole time.

If this was one of those inspirational business posts, which it’s not, I would just say:
- You have to start somewhere.
- Use the resources that you have!
- Enjoy the down hill but remember to work it, because, there will be another uphill.
- It’s OK to take the help.
Will update again soon.
Love & Light.
