Well, it’s been a hot minute since I said hello.
I don’t even know if I remember how to do this whole blog thing anymore.
So here goes…
A lot has happened since I last said hello in March 2021. I know before that it was a hot minute again. I don’t know, what can I say. I’m not super consistent in the blogging world. I guess after all the cancer stuff was done (well, basically done) I didn’t know what to talk about. So I guess I’ll use this as a catch up and who knows, maybe a new start.
The cancer thing : I am over 2 years post transplant. Things are great. I went to the transplant doctor this week and he is now letting me go 6 whole months before I visit again. My skin is super dry and I guess my heart is ok. I’m on meds for both. Other than that, not much going on, boring is good.
The work thing : So the work for myself world was not for me. I tried the shampoo thing, I tried the natural body care thing, I even tried to create my own product (gratitude cards, a personal growth thing, and even a Christmas exchange game) oh… I even thought about starting a podcast. I spent a small fortune on business coaches, all to realize, this is not for me. But, in May, I, kinda on a whim, applied for a job and well… I started about a week after I applied. So far, I’m really enjoying it. I’m learning a lot, growing my resume quite a bit and have already gotten promoted! The money has been nice. Having something to do everyday has been nice. It’s been hard at times to manage all the kid stuff, but we’ve made it work.
The dream car thing : Remember when I posted about Zach’s dream car? Well… he got a brand new Ram Rebel this past March. He loves it. And guess what? When I started my new job, I ordered the new Ford Mustang Mach E. Patiently waited for almost 6 months and just recently picked up my brand new car! I’ve wanted a fully electric car for a decade when I first saw the Nissan Leaf in the mall parking lot with Coda. And know I have one. It’s quite the learning curve and I could probably write a whole blog just on having an electric car. Holden is supposedly starting a TikTok account for it, so I’ll share if we ever post. HA.
The memory keeping thing : Still doing Project Life, kinda. I’m always behind, but I’m trying. I would love for this to be a place where I share my project life and all things scrapbooking again. Goals.
What you might expect from this blog in the future….
- Day in the Life, Week in the Life and Project Life documenting from the point of view of a working mom with teens
- Hard, potentially triggering stuff like teen suicide, mental health, after cancer life
- Looking at colleges, taking tours, making choices and doing all the junior in high school college stuff
- Books. You know, if I start reading again
- Navigating a new ASD diagnosis with my teen
- Budgeting
- Travel. Hopefully.
- Jesus.
